Tokyo Electron U.S. Holdings, Inc. (TEH), the corporate headquarters entity for TEL in the United States, is seeking a patent attorney. TEH provides shared services support for six TEL subsidiaries located in the United States. The people who power TEH are a group of dedicated professionals committed to the success of our employees and customers.
Responsibilities:
? Works with engineers and scientists to extract their inventions and assists them in Invention Disclosure preparation
? Works with Patent Evaluation Committees to evaluate inventions for patent protection
? Conducts prior art search and evaluates prior art for patentability of inventions
? Drafts, files and prosecutes patent applications directly at USPTO
? Manages prosecution of patent applications through external IP law firms
? Works with Patent Evaluation Committees to decide on maintenance of US patents
? Files PCT patent applications directly at USPTO
? Files and manages prosecution of foreign national patent applications through associate foreign patent attorneys
? Works with Patent Evaluation Committees on foreign filing and foreign patent maintenance decisions
? Leads, participates or assists in Due Diligence assignments
? Leads, participates or assists in freedom-to-operate, validity and non-infringement analysis
? Participates in training engineers and scientists in patent law and procedures
Requirements:
? Patent Agent or Patent Attorney with 5 years of direct experience in patent application preparation, filing and prosecution (USPTO Registration Number is required, in case of Patent Attorney JD is also required)
? Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering is preferred)
? Proven and demonstrable ability to efficiently and independently prepare, file and prosecute patent applications,
? Through knowledge of U.S. patent law as applied to patent prosecution (knowledge of patent laws of JP, KR and CN is a plus)
