This post was written by John Heckman: "Corel has recently release WordPerfect X5. (They went over to the "X" naming in a superstitious fit to avoid a release "13"). Like any mature program, this is a marginal release.
The main new features include enhanced PDF handling capabilities. WP will not only create PDF files natively (which it has been able to do since version 9), but convert them to WP as well. X5 includes PDF markup tools and other editing capabilities. As with previous versions, Corel has not mucked around with the underlying format so the kind of retraining nightmare that accompanied Word 2007 will not be an issue..."
