On the next to last day of the baseball season, the Mets yesterday garnered a nice consolation prize in what has been a pretty woeful season.
A Manhattan federal judge threw out the bulk of claims by a court-appointed trustee for Madoff victims, who had sought about $1 billion from the owners of the New York Mets baseball team, Fred Wilpon and Saul Katz.
