: The Volokh ConspiracySeeking Advice on Buying Cheap Used Desktop Computers for a 7-Year-Old
By Eugene Volokh
I?d like to buy a cheap used desktop computer for my 7-year-old. It doesn?t have to be fancy; he?s mostly using it for word processing, drawing, and some light Internet research, plus occasional computer games (which we tell ourselves are educational). And I would like it to be cheap, because odds are high that he?ll break it somehow in the next year or two. But at the same time, I?d prefer that it be pretty reliable, and that there be some tech support available for it ? I don?t want to spend my time trying to fix things, figure out how to install stuff, and so on.
Any suggestions? Many thanks!
