: Counseling KevinSayonara to Slumming
By Kevin Funnell
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
---Matthew 7:6
In the past three weeks, I have been hit smack in the face with two examples of classic humble-pie-eating justice that have demonstrated to me that God is bound and determined to teach me some final lessons in humility. I have to say, those lessons have been so effective that instead of feeling remorse, I have laughed out loud...at myself. And I have not been this amused in some time.
On the other hand, in the past week I have received one heart-felt communication of such utter sincerity and simple honesty that it's made me realize that God is separating me from the bad and orientating me toward the good with an alacrity that, while it is gratifying as well as humbling, begins to fill me with the thought that perhaps time, which does not limit God but which limits me (at least this version of "me"), may be nearing the quarter-full mark on the gas gauge of life.
I think that it's time to separate the wheat from the chaff, leave the chaff to God's good graces, and focus on the wheat. I think I may need to do that not merely for the sake of myself, but for the sake of those I touch.
It's time to leave the slumming to the dilattantes and become serious.

"Sayonara Time Matters"
This post was written by John Heckman: "I have been involved with Time Matters for about 10 years, 7 of those as a CIC (Certified Independent Consultant). Many people are aware that I was unceremoniously excommunicated from the CIC program....
Does This Sound Like A Bargain To You
"It's been awhile since I've been slumming over at Realty Times. (It just hasn't been as much fun since I can't make fun of Blanche Evans any more.) There's still plenty of fodder for laughs though at RT if you look around though- like this great piece of sales advice from a realtor in my old home town of Gilbert, AZ"
"The Lincoln Lawyer"
We went to see "The Lincoln Lawyer" as a last act of quasi-professional slumming before the end of spring break. The story does not quite hold together, as is usual for such movies, but it almost does...
Oil Heirs Wife Pursues Megabucks in Divorce
Husband’s father, an oil heir, is worth about $2 billion. Wife is looking for more than $314,000 per month to carry on in the style to which she has become accustomed. After living like an heiress for ten to eighteen years, anything less would be “slumming”...
