Auf solche Ideen können auch wirklich nur Lobby-Truppen aus den Staaten kommen, oder?

The American Mustache Institute introduced the Million Mustache March in support of the Stimulus To Allow Critical Hair Expenses, or the STACHE Act. If adopted by Congress, the STACHE Act would provide up to a $250.00 annual tax refund for Mustached Americans.

Im White Paper heißt es dann auch

Given the clear link between the growing and maintenance of mustaches and incremental income, it appears clear that mustache maintenance costs qualify for and should be considered as a deductible expense related to the production of income under Internal Revenue Code Section 212. [...]
(The) limitation on the deductibility of mustache grooming supplies and accessories, as well as the taxation of the additional earnings of the Mustached American, provides a disincentive for the clean-­shaven to begin the enjoyment of the Mustached American lifestyle. This is contrary to public policy, since tax law should provide clear incentives for actions that stimulate the economy, promote societal development, and clean the environment.

Der Zentralverband des deutschen Friseurhandwerks hat es im letzten Wahljahr (2009) eher auf der Hotel-Schiene versucht:

Mit seiner Kampagne „Kurs 7 Prozent" setzt sich der Zentralverband des Deutschen Friseurhandwerks für die zeitnahe Einführung von 7 Prozent Mehrwertsteuer auf Friseurdienstleistungen ein.

Umsetzbar ist wohl keine der beiden Ideen! Der Gag bei der US-Initiative ist allerdings, dass das Geld direkt und spürbar bei den Bärtigen ankommt. Umsatzsteuersatzsenkungen kommen beim Verbraucher aber nur dann an, wenn die Friseure auch die Endverbraucherpreise anpassen...

Steuerpolitik bringt schon echte Blüten zur Welt. Nicht nur hier, nein auf der ganzen Welt! Ich finds toll...
