I spent this morning in a 3 1/2 hour Markman hearing in Judge Payne's court here in Marshall. The court's provisional claims construction ruling was in my in box at 3:23 pm. Wow.
No, this isn't the fastest Markman ruling in the history of the Eastern District - that belongs to Magistrate Judge Don Bush in Plano, who once ruled from the bench as each term was presented. But absent ruling from the bench, I believe it is the quickest I am aware of.
My wife will be so unimpressed - on all her lawyer shows the judge calls with a ruling midafternoon after hearing the motion that morning all the time.
