Thanks to a poorly designed bracket the UVA law blogosphere has a new member.  As punishment for failing to win his bracket a 2L was forced to start a blog.  Amazingly, he's taken to it like a 1L to law puns with nearly forty posts this month...

I remember reading a story in Time or Newsweek about some high school kid who flipped out junior year, stole a car and ditched his exams...

BW&V once quipped, there's nothing funny about six-figures of debt, but if you think about it, seven-figures of debt would be hilarious. That's what were thinking as we browsed Above the Law's recent survey on associate debt.  It's truly scary to think that 10 percent of the class of 2000 still has more than 100k in student debt...

So the Supreme Court upheld the lethal injection method of execution, ending a temporary halt in the country's executions.  Don't worry, Virginia's planning to get rid of three dudes by the end of July.  The 7-2 decision wasn't really that surprising, but being from Texas we were a little taken aback by this infographic, which shows the states with the highest levels of death row incarceration as a percentage of population...

What types of assignments are you going to get from your firm this summer?  Um, probably nothing that really matters.  If junior associates at Weil, Gotshal are complaining about having too much free time then you can expect plenty of time to just zone out in your office after two-hour lunches...
